A Civil Contruction Supervisor is now required as we commence the first stage of the Waihi North Project (WNP). The purpose of the role is to mentor and monitor construction work groups to ensure compliance with WNP HSE Policies and Procedures; coordinate site construction activities to minimize their effect on Operations; ensure construction activities are completed to scope on time and within budget; ensure project reporting is carried out as per the requirements of the Project Manager.
Key resposnibilities:
- Participate in Schedule and Estimate development for Capital Works.
- Participate in development of plans to manage constructability issues.
- Liaise with Operations concerning site activities prior to and during project activities.
- Coordinate interfaces between the project Operations and other business activities in regard to the completion of project site activities.
- Actively monitor site activities and report progress against approved schedules.
- Actively monitor site activities and report non-conformance issues through the project management team.
- Maintain daily records of works management including incidents progress delays and the achievement of milestones. Ensure the Construction Superintendent is promptly informed of all relevant matters and developments associated with construction activities and site works management.
- Take charge and directly manage site activities for critical tie-in or plant shutdowns that effect Production.
- Ensure that housekeeping around Construction works is maintained to a high standard
- Maintain a presence at contractor pre-start and safety meetings.
- Actively manage contractor safety performance and compliance to site safe work systems.
- Participate in Project Risk assessment development and actively monitor/implement subsequent control measures.
- Assist construction Superintendent in identifying resource skills and opportunities within the Project Execution team to execute tasks and act as the liaison with these resources to initiate and manage works being undertaken.
Qualifications :
- Relevant Trade qualification for expertise.
- Field Safety Management training or qualifications highly regarded.
- 5 years Civil/earthworks construction experience in a leadership role.
- 15 years Civil/earthworks construction experience.
- Experience in management of contractor workforces
