Davis Behavioral Health is seeking a full-time Case Manager to join the Children Youth and Families Mental Health outpatient team in its Quest day treatment program. The Youth Day Treatment Case Manager is a Bachelors level mental health professional who provides services to adolescents in day treatment who are experiencing a variety of behavioral and psychiatric symptoms. Services include targeted case management behavior management and skills development provided in both individual and group settings.

Essential Job Functions

The Quest Case Manager is responsible for the following job duties:

  • Complete in-home assessment of family strengths and needs for each program participant.
  • In conjunction with the clinical therapist develop individualized service plans consisting of mutually agreed upon goals and objectives and update as required.
  • Provide supervision of client behaviors and interactions including coaching teaching and reinforcing positive skills.
  • Teach parenting skills and behavior modification techniques through in-office and in-home services to youth and their families.
  • Teach individual and group skills to youth and their families using evidence-based interventions to decrease symptoms and improve functioning.
  • Coordinate with parents and schools for transitioning to and from regular school.
  • Link families with systems of care that provide them with resources services and opportunities to improve their quality of life.
  • Maintain an emotionally and physically safe and trauma informed treatment environment.
  • Maintain documentation as required by agency standards.
  • Coordinate with other staff and community agencies as needed to provide effective care.
  • Participate in weekly staffings and regularly scheduled supervision.
  • Must meet agency productivity standard.
  • Other duties as assigned and needed.

Compensation

The hourly rate for this position is outlined below

  • $25.50 per hour for candidates licensed as a Social Service Worker (SSW) in the State of Utah.
    • 1% per year for each year of licensure between 0 and 10 years.
    • 1% per year for every three years of licensure 10 years and beyond.
  • $21.50 per hour for candidates with a bachelors degree in a social science field but no SSW license.
    • 1% per year for each year of licensure between 0 and 10 years.
  • $19.00 per hour for candidates with a bachelors degree.
    • 1% per year for each year of licensure between 0 and 10 years.

Schedule

This is a full-time position and is normally assigned to weekdays. This schedule may require three evenings per week. DBH reserves the right to require overtime weekend work and/or assignment to evening or night shifts depending upon operational need some in and out of state travel may be required.

The proposed schedule for this position is outlined below:

  • Monday through Wednesday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
  • Thursday 9:00 am to 7:00 pm
  • Friday 9:00 am to 3:00 pm

Experience

Experience providing case management services to youth and their families knowledge of behavior modification principles and teaching life skills to adolescents and families in a group setting.

Preferred

Candidates licensed as a Social Service Worker (SSW) are strongly preferred. Candidates who are not currently licensed but are actively pursuing SSW licensure or those that do not have a SSW license but are eligible for Targeted Case Management Certification may also be considered.

Skills/Abilities/Qualifications

The following skills abilities and qualifications are essential for this position:

  • Must have skills in working with SED populations substance use and with individuals and families undergoing acute episodes of psychiatric distress.
  • Must have individual and group behavior management skills experience.
  • Demonstrates the skills necessary to motivate and engage youth and their families
  • Capable of handling disruptive behaviors in a calm and professional manner
  • Good organizational and practice management skills
  • Ability to work independently and effectively
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other staff and agencies
  • Flexibility in days and hours available for scheduled work including evenings

Targeted Case Management Certification

Candidates who do not hold a professional license must complete certification as a Targeted Case Manager (TCM) within the first 30 days of employment.

Qualifications to become a certified Targeted Case Manager through the State of Utah Division of Substance Abuse and Mental Health include:

  • 400 hours of work volunteer and/or education experience in human services or a related field
  • Required 40-hour case management practicum and examination provided by DBH during the TCM certification class.

Preference will also be given to candidates who are bilingual English/Spanish.

The successful candidate must also have a clean driving record to operate agency vehicles and/or transport clients when necessary. The ideal candidate will have experience working with clients that have sever mental illness are hard working can work both independently and successfully within a small outreach team.

DBH Criminal Background Check & Drug Screening Disclaimer


Davis Behavioral Health is a drug-free workplace and requires all employees to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening. DBH will not hire individuals currently using illegal drugs or abusing alcohol; therefore making employment at DBH conditional upon successfully passing pre-employment drug screening by providing a valid sample. Candidates who are offered employment are required to report for a drug screen at an Intermountain WorkMed location within 24 hours of being requested to do so by the DBH Human Resources Department.


Davis Behavioral Health works with Federal grants and must comply with the Federal drug laws including no use of medical marijuana.


Further all employees at DBH must successfully pass a pre-employment criminal background check as part of DBHs licensing agreement with the State of Utah. Failure to pass either screening will result in the termination of any job offer submitted and/or employment for any individual who has started employment while the criminal background screening is in process. Pending and/or open charges will likely impact a candidates ability to pass the pre-employment criminal background screening.
