In this position you will liaison between patients radiologists and other members of the support team. The Specialist integrates scientific knowledge; technical skills patient interaction and compassionate care resulting in diagnostic information and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure. Interventional Radiographers must maintain a high degree of accuracy in radiographic positioning and exposure technique. They must possess utilize maintain and enhance knowledge of radiation safety and protection for self patients and others. The Interventional Radiographer prepares administers and documents activities related to mediation in accordance with state regulations and institution policy.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
Check room daily for adequate stock necessary to facilitate continuous exam flow. Maintains appropriate inventory as indicated by posted par levels and updates supply lists when items are needed.
Confirms patient identity with approved identifiers.
Demonstrating population appropriate care with all patients appropriately prepares patients for procedures.
Verifies patients pregnancy and informed consent statuses.
Assesses factors that may contraindicate the procedure; such as medication contraindications patient risk for reaction to medications patient history laboratory results insufficient patient preparation or artifacts.
Based on order determines type and dose of contrast agent to be administered based on patients age weight and medical/physical status.
Anticipates and responds to patients needs throughout the entire encounter. Reaches out to others as needed.
Provides clear and detailed information regarding the procedure to the patient family and others.
Performs routine portable STAT urgent on-call and intraoperative diagnostic and interventional radiographic and fluoroscopy cases while accurately demonstrating anatomy and pathology through proper techniques.
Expert knowledge of information management systems demonstrates systems functionalities accurately performs functions independently and serves as a resource to others.
Accurately and independently performs procedures identifies and resolves issues. Seeks experience and knowledge in the technical area to gain expertise.
Positions self in challenging situations and responds with confidence professionalism and accuracy in the face of multiple demands and shifting priorities.
Build rapport and facilitate communication outside of the department. Network coordinate activities become a sought-after contact person within the working group.
Skills & Requirements
Required Graduate of a formal diagnostic Radiology program
Required R-ARRT - ARRT RegTech Radiography by the American Registry of Radiology Technologists and CMRT - Cert Med Radiologic Techngst by the Texas Medical Board
Required 3 years of Radiology experience (any/all modalities).
