Minimum Qualifications
A masters degree or its equivalent in the field of specialization and promise of teaching success and of scholarly or artistic achievements; a candidate without a masters degree must have equivalent educational or professional experience in the appropriate area of instructional responsibility and the recommendation for appointment must contain a statement of this equivalence. Single Subject Music credential with multiple years experience teaching in public schools. Elementary general music teaching experience including use of recent technology appropriate to music classrooms. Experience with developing skills in teaching literacy music of diverse cultures and/or inclusion.
Preferred Qualifications
College-level experience highly desirable. Experience with supervising university students in fieldwork and University of the Pacifics education programs Applications from those willing and qualified to teach in related areas such as entrepreneurship/professional development music theory and musicology are encouraged. An earned doctorate or terminal degree in the field of specialization. Presentations/publications of research/ scholarship in field of specialization. Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures. Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice equity and inclusion in a university setting. Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.
