Job Description
Will Rogers Downs Cherokee Casino is seeking a seasonal Veterinary Technician to join our team during our horse racing season! In this role you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our equine athletes.
NOTE this job is a safety sensitive position subject to drug testing requirements. A positive drug test will result in a job offer being rescinded or for active employees termination even if they test positive for marijuana and have a valid medical marijuana license.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Oklahoma Horse Racing Commission (OHRC) with collecting pre- and post-race blood and urine samples from horses for regulatory testing.
- Maintain a sterile and organized work environment.
- Ensure the proper handling and transportation of collected samples.
- Document all procedures and maintain accurate records.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor while interacting with OHRC officials trainers jockeys and other staff.
Qualifications
- Were looking for someone with a minimum of a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 6 months of related blend of education and relevant experience will do the trick!
- Basic computer skills.
- Working knowledge Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must have and maintain a Drivers license.
- Ability to obtain and maintain licensing by the appropriate gaming authority.
- This role requires the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
