The EEG Tech is responsible for performing a variety of neurological and cardiopulmonary diagnostic procedures in accordance with established protocols and physician orders. This role also contributes to education and orientation activities for staff and ensures quality care through accurate data collection and patient interaction.
Essential ResponsibilitiesReview and evaluate clinical data to determine test appropriateness
Select assemble and verify equipment for diagnostic procedures
Conduct and adjust EEG and cardiopulmonary tests as prescribed
Maintain clear and accurate patient records and report findings to healthcare teams
Promote and deliver age-appropriate care for all patients
Assist in staff education and professional development initiatives
Support departmental compliance with policies and Medical Director guidelines
Education: Bachelors Degree preferred
Licensure/Certifications:
Registered EEG Technologist ( T.) by ABRET preferred
Graduate of an approved Electroneurodiagnostic or AMA-accredited Respiratory Care Program
OR minimum 2 years of EEG testing experience preferred
RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer) by ARDMS or Registered Cardiovascular Technologist preferred or 1 year of equivalent experience
BLS Certification (required within 60 days of hire)
