JOB TITLE: Watch Officer (Intermediate)

LOCATION: Huntsville AL
REPORTS TO: SABG Program Manager
FLSA STATUS: Regular Full-Time Exempt

SUMMARY: SABG is hiring a Watch Officer (Intermediate) to support the Huntsville Missile Defense Agency Operations Center (HMOC). The HMOC directly supports the Director MDA by serving as the noted for situational awareness and information collection and monitoring for the operational/developmental status of the Missile Defense System. The HMOC is located in the Von Braun III Complex on Redstone Arsenal AL. Contractor and Government personnel to provide nominal 12 x 5 support (2 x 8 hours watches a day 5 days a week with a 4 hour overlap).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.

Ideal candidates will:

  • Collect analyze evaluate disseminate information and provide situational awareness and understanding to senior leadership key personnel and operational units.
  • Orchestrate and conduct MDS Daily Briefing
  • Operate/monitor Command Control Battle Management & Communications (C2BMC) console
  • Provide time-sensitive notifications to MDA leadership
  • Monitor current events and update MDA leadership on real world events that affect the operational status of the MDS
  • Assist in Request for Analysis/Request for Information senior leader coordination
  • Manage physical security SCR scheduling and personnel security for SCIF and SAP level events

SUPERVISION: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors Degree and 5 years operational experience analyzing and reporting operational readiness data and impacts; conducting strategic high-level coordination activities; deliberate planning; test support; logistics and sustainment; requirements and operational document development; problem solving and working independently.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors Degree and 5 years experience analyzing and reporting operational readiness data and impacts
  • Collecting and disseminating critical incidents and significant events
  • Understanding and communicating asset management and configuration management impacts on a major weapon system
  • Assessing information and making critical decisions
  • 2 years experience leading complex teams in an operational environment
  • Must be able to work independently analyze written and oral instructions regarding planned and unscheduled maintenance events and assess impacts of these events on MDS mission readiness
  • Must be a self-starter detail oriented able to support multiple projects possess excellent communication skills work well within a team interact with multiple levels of management and be able to manage customer and contractor relationships
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work
  • Possess exceptionally strong writing skills

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Skilled in operating a personal computer and standard office equipment
  • Must have proficiency in a variety of computer software applications in word processing spreadsheets and database (MS Office: Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook)

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read analyze and interpret governmental regulations. Ability to write reports business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers clients customers and the public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply concepts such as fractions percentages ratios and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to question activities and issues in all functional areas and make sound business decisions based on that data.
