Plant HW Finishing Finishing Technician II Shift 2Position Overview
Position Objective: Run the finish line operations safely and efficiently with the maximum amount of
production and a minimal amount of off-quality
Essential Duties:
Responsible for sanding different widths and sizes of boards to meet specifications. Set up the sander - refer to One Hour Graphite Test Procedures - FI063P Make machine/process adjustments on line and on computer. Follow specific instructions on each order. Achieve set quality standards. Monitor and adjust coater to achieve desired results. Change application rollers. Safely handle and use all line chemicals. Monitor parameters such as speed UV output and temperature. Make adjustments to settings to accommodate different widths of boards. Make adjustments to settings to account for the wear of the sandpaper. Overall visual control of the entire line. Visual inspections of products for defects and grading. Complete computerized quality reports. Perform quality checks on finished products. Keep machines and work areas clean and free of dust. Read and analyze charts and graphs. Take measurements of finished product Willing to be an On the Job Trainer (OJT) Notification of Supervisor when fifteen (15) minutes of line adjustments have not achieved desired improvements on quality issues. Ensure all other critical line positions are made aware of changes/adjustments that are made to the process (ie: color technician finishing/defecting lead and finishing/defecting supervisor) Communicate with Co-workers
Non-Essential Duties:
Must be a team player Take an active role in committees. Cross-training for other jobs on the finishing line. Perform housekeeping duties
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to bend squat and stoop several times a day. Must be able to stand for 8 12 hours a day. Must be able to climb stairs several times throughout the day. Must be able to assist in lifting up to 75 lbs. several times a day. Must be able to lift 35-50 lbs. on a regular basis throughout the day. Must be able to handle the stress of meeting goals and production requirements. Must be able to visualize defects in the product. Must be able to visualize color defects in the product.
Other Requirements:
Basic reading writing and math ability. Must be capable of learning and performing additional operations Must be capable of being trained on current computer systems and software.
