Are you committed to issues of social justice Are you detail-oriented self-motivated familiar with social media account maintenance and curation and comfortable working with students staff faculty and prospective students The Department of Education is hiring a student worker who will be responsible for coordinating and maintaining administrative tasks for the department. Additionally this person will run our social media accounts including Instagram and Facebook in coordination with the department chair. We are looking for a students who is energized by the department vision and will ensure that all department members have what they need to successfully serve our 120 majors and minors.

Position summary:
Approximately 15 hours a week
Available for the full 2025-2026 academic year (Fall and Spring semesters)
Must be committed to working consistent hours every week though schedule is flexible
Job duties and skills include:
Front desk coverage including answering phones and welcoming visitors
Creating and updating promotional materials using Canva and other campus supported platforms
Photocopying scanning running errands and making sure that the office is presentable to guests
Updating website using Drupal
Education Department library maintenance
Tracking and ordering office supplies
Managing social media platforms and posting consistently on Instagram and Facebook
Working closely with faculty staff and students in department programs to develop social media content
Support for department events including Spring Lecture workshops and admissions events
Weekly meetings with supervisors
May assist with other department needs as assigned
The ideal candidate will be able to work independently identify and carry out routine tasks take initiative to develop or modify systems to be more efficient or effective be open to direction and feedback work well independently and have demonstrated problem solving skills. Therefore the ideal candidate will have had at least one year of Office Assistant (B) experience.
