The Role
Are you a meticulous digital writer and subeditor with a passion for news and driving audience engagement The ABC Canberra newsroom is looking for a digital producer to join our team. You will focus on the writing production and subediting of compelling stories that reflect the diversity of the Canberra region.
The Job
- Produce breaking news features and video stories for the ABC News website and social media platforms.
- Pitch and write compelling high-quality stories of relevance to Canberra and Australian audiences
- Check stories for factual and style errors/inconsistencies and ensure content is accurate timely and innovative.
- Liaise with newsroom colleagues from TV and radio to ensure appropriate coverage of stories.

About You
You are a talented digital writer and subeditor with proven experience in delivering news for audiences on a range of digital platforms utilising a variety of storytelling techniques.
Youll have
- A keen eye for detail and experience working with others to accurately produce and subedit news articles under tight deadline pressure.
- A strong knowledge of analytics tools and a capacity to use both to inform story treatments headlines and presentation.
- A demonstrated ability to innovate and identify fresh and interesting story ideas and angles that matter to the audience.
