Job Description
Cherokee Casino Will Rogers Downs is gearing up for an exciting horse racing season and is hiring a seasonal Racing Maintenance Equipment Driver to join our team! The Seasonal Racing Maintenance Equipment Driver plays a crucial role in ensuring the track is in optimal condition for racing. This position involves operating heavy equipment performing routine maintenance and contributing to the overall upkeep of the racetrack.
NOTE: This position is considered safety-sensitive and is subject to pre-employment and random drug testing. Please note that a positive drug test result including for marijuana may result in a job offer being rescinded for applicants or termination of employment for current employees even if they possess a valid medical marijuana license.
Responsibilities
- Operate tractors water trucks and other assigned heavy equipment.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance checks.
- Assist with track maintenance and preparation.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- At least 1 year of experience operating heavy equipment.
- Knowledge of horse racing operations is preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and often demanding outdoor environment.
- Ability to withstand exposure to extreme temperatures dust and noise.
- Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to obtain and maintain licensing by the appropriate gaming/racing authority.
- Must have and maintain a valid drivers license.
