The UT Southwestern Medical Center Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Management seeks an outstanding Anesthesiologist with a strong interest in pursuing an academic career.
We are looking for a Fellowship Trained Cardiovascular & Thoracic Anesthesiologist (advanced fellowship and subspecialty training are preferred). Responsibilities include direct patient care in Cardiovascular & Thoracic Anesthesiology with teaching and supervision of Cardiovascular & Thoracic Anesthesiology fellows anesthesiology residents and other trainees. Advance specialty training or experience is preferred.
Applicants must have or be able to obtain a Texas medical license prior to employment and be BC/BE with the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA). Candidates are appointed as Assistant Instructor if they do not have board certification at hire; continued employment will be contingent upon receipt of ABA certification within two (2) years of initial hire date.
This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code 51.215 which authorizes UT Southwestern to obtain criminal history record information. To the extent this position requires the holder to research work on or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Section 113.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the critical infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired and to continue to be employed in the position.
Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishment and experience. Consideration may be given to applicants seeking less than a full-time schedule.
