Job Description
The Section of Colon and Rectal Surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center is currently recruiting for an Instructor in Colorectal Surgery.
This position will entail clinical responsibilities primarily at Texas Health Resources facilities in Frisco and Dallas. The candidate will be working closely with the colorectal team at both locations and will be taking general surgery call at the THR Frisco location. A commitment to basic or clinical research will be supported by the department.
Applicant must have completed an ACGME-accredited General Surgery residency by the time of the appointment. They should be Board-eligible and also be eligible for a Texas Medical License. Appointment rank will be at the Instructor level.
This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code 51.215 which authorizes UT Southwestern to obtain criminal history record information. To the extent this position requires the holder to research work on or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Section 113.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the critical infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired and to continue to be employed in the position.
Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishment and experience. Consideration may be given to applicants seeking less than a full-time schedule.
