Overview
Ansible Government Solutions LLC (Ansible) is currently seeking Electrocardiograph Technicians (EKG)to support operations at the Department of Veterans Affairs VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System located at 11301 Wilshire Blvd Los Angeles CA 90073. The normal tour of duty of 8 hours per day is from 0730-1600 Monday through Friday. Responsibilities
- Perform resting ECGs exercise stress tests and ambulatory ECG monitoring
- Operate and monitor ECG equipment for both inpatient and outpatient populations
- Respond promptly to pager calls for ECG services across multiple VA locations
- Evaluate test results and adjust equipment or techniques as needed
- Communicate abnormal findings to physicians
- Monitor blood pressure and heart rate during procedures
- Explain procedures to patients to ensure cooperation and reduce anxiety
- Maintain and troubleshoot cardiology equipment
- Document and archive results in CPRS VISTA and MUSE systems
- Manage patient scheduling supply inventory and equipment maintenance
- Uphold HIPAA and patient privacy standards
- Participate in performance improvement and risk management activities
Qualifications
- Be skilled in operating ECG machines Holter monitors stress test systems and pacemaker evaluations
- Hold Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT) certification (via CCI)
- Demonstrate proper ECG lead placement and recognize medical distress signs
- Be knowledgeable in medical terminology ECG errors and corrective actions
- Have basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office
- Be familiar with patient-centered care and customer service principles
- Pass a pre-assignment medical exam and meet immunization requirements (e.g. Hep B MMR Varicella TB)
- Complete VA-mandated training (e.g. HIPAA cybersecurity infection control)
- Wear a VA-issued ID badge at all times on site
- Be subject to random drug testing and background checks
- Has and maintains current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Pay Range:$38.81 - $47.62 hourly
All candidates must be able to:
- Sit stand walk lift squat bend twist and reach above shoulders during the work shift
- Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist
- Lift up to 20 lbs
- Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance
- Push/pull with 30 lbs of force
