Position Summary
This is an exciting opportunity to operate a state-of-the-art industrial CT scanning system and support Medtronics mission of alleviating pain restoring health and extending life. As part of the R&D Testing Services Group you will collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers working on innovative life-changing medical technologies. You will contribute directly to Medtronics success by applying advanced testing techniques to support failure investigations new product development and first article inspectionsall while advancing the use of cutting-edge CT scanning and digital radiography methods.
Success in this role requires a strong background in CT and X-ray a passion for working with 3D models and designs in real-world applications and a customer-focused mindset.
You will operate a North Star Imaging X5000 CT scanning system equipped with the latest NSI software and hardware. In this role you will engage directly with Medtronic teams and external customers to understand their requirements operate digital X-ray equipment and utilize 3D reconstruction software to deliver accurate and actionable data that meets or exceeds expectations. Your work will directly contribute to Medtronics mission of delivering high-quality products that improve patients lives.
Responsibilities
Technical Responsibilities:
Safely operate a cabinet-based X-ray system (NSI X5000) with a 225 kV X-ray source ensuring the safety of personnel equipment and products at all times.
Perform maintenance duties on company equipment following provided instructions.
Collaborate with engineers to understand their needs and demonstrate how equipment and techniques can address those needs. Assist or lead technical presentations to cross-functional groups explaining the service.
Develop tailored scanning techniques to meet the inspection requirements of internal customers for specific products.
Perform data reduction and reconstruction to create 3D representations of internal customers products.
Present data in appropriate file formats or interactively with customer guidance.
Maintain records of developed techniques maintenance information and customer interactions.
Learn new skills and software operations as additional equipment is introduced and new markets are explored.
Non-Technical Responsibilities:

Support marketing activities by attending trade shows conferences and other events.
Represent RDTS at project meetings when requested.
Pursue skill development through additional training and educational programs.
Adhere to all company and departmental safety standard operating procedures.
Create work instructions/SOPs as needed.
Skills
Solid technical background in industrial CT and X-ray.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Good judgment neatness organization and a strong work ethic.
Effective time management and organizational skills including punctuality.
Excellent teamwork capabilities.
Ability to take direction and work independently as needed.
Nice to have: Education/Experience
At least one year of experience in industrial CT scanning and data reconstruction is highly desired.
A bachelors degree is required preferably in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering.
Experience with 3D CAD modeling software is desirable.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) is preferred.

Requires a Baccalaureate degree (or for degrees earned outside of the United States a degree which satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. 214.2(h)( 4)(iii)(A) and minimum of 2 years of relevant experience or advanced degree with 0 years of experience.
