Job Description
Staff Accountant $70k-$90k 10% Bonus DC: Hybrid (3x)

Our client - a fast-growing organization driving innovation in clean energy policy and finance - is looking for a Staff Accountant to join their team. Youd support core accounting operations reporting and analysis with direct exposure to leadership. The role reports to the Controller (a former candidate of mine I know well) and offers strong visibility in a high-impact environment.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Operations
- Prepare and post journal entries and reconcile general ledger and bank accounts
- Support payroll processing and employee expense reimbursements
- Handle A/P and A/R transactions with accurate coding and timely execution
- Assist with monthly and year-end close activities
- Identify process improvements to strengthen accounting systems and workflows
Reporting & Analysis
- Assist in preparing monthly quarterly and annual financial reports in line with GAAP
- Provide support for leadership-level reporting and funder-focused analysis
- Conduct ad hoc reporting and data analysis as needed
Compliance & Audit
- Ensure adherence to internal policies and external financial regulations
- Support audit preparations including documentation and response coordination
Ideal Background
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field
- 1-5 years of accounting experience
- Experience with Intacct and preferred but not required.
