The Department of Physician Assistant Medicine in the College of Natural and Health Sciences at The University of Tampa is seeking qualified candidates for a term faculty position (open rank) as Principal Faculty starting August 2025.
The University of Tampas PA program is currently in continued accreditation status.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have:
1. A Masters Degree as a physician assistant
2. A Doctoral Degree is highly preferred
2. Previous experience as a PA educator is highly preferred
4. Evidence of teaching experience in an academic setting is required.
5. National certification as a physician assistant (NCCPA) is required.
6. Three (3) years or more of clinical practice as a physician assistant required (clinical practice in other health professions may be considered).
The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate a commitment to excellence in graduate physician assistant education teaching which includes selecting students for admissions curriculum and program evaluation and assessment student instruction assessment and remediation mentoring of students including capstone project advising scholarly activity and service within the environment of a private liberal arts institution. Typical teaching load is 9 credit hours per semester for 3 semesters during this 12 month contract (27 credits).
