Job Summary:
This role is for a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in a long-term care facility within a larger acute care medical center. The CNA will provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse assisting with activities of daily living collecting patient data and performing basic medical procedures. The position requires weekend availability and may involve variable shifts based on facility needs. Housing and a vehicle are provided.
Location: Kodiak Alaska United States
Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including hygiene ambulation feeding and toileting.
- Collect patient data such as vital signs weight and specimens.
- Perform basic medical procedures such as incentive spirometry pulse oximetry and blood sugar checks (as permitted).
- Maintain and clean equipment.
- Document patient care and related duties.
- Answer phones and direct calls.
- Assist in emergency situations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license (or proof of application within 72 hours of signing contract if not already licensed in Alaska).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Minimum of one year of experience (first-timers accepted).
- Valid drivers license and proof of insurance (if accepting facility-provided vehicle).

Special Considerations:
- Weekend work is required.
- Shifts are variable (3x12 or 5x8) and determined based on staffing needs.
- On-call duty is not required.
- Clinician may float within their scope to meet facility needs.
- Block scheduling is not accommodated.
- Facility provides housing (1-bedroom apartment) and a vehicle for the duration of the assignment. Pets are not allowed. Additional family members require facility approval.
- The facility-provided vehicle is for local use only (within a 30-mile radius).
- Guaranteed hours are 60 per two weeks with the possibility of one 12-hour shift cancellation per two weeks.
Scheduling:
- Variable shifts (3x12 or 5x8 hours) determined based on facility needs closer to the start date.
- Weekend work is required.
- Guaranteed 60 hours per two weeks.
