Job Description

RN - Cardiovascular Operating Room (Permanent Role)

Location: Irving TX 75061
Shift: 12 HR Days 07:00 AM - 07:00 PM
Guaranteed Hours: (36 hours/week)
Compensation: Based on experience

Essential Functions:

Clinical Judgment

  • Perform accurate clinical assessments based on established nursing standards.
  • Prioritize patient and family needs to develop and evaluate a personalized care plan.
  • Adjust care plans to ensure optimal clinical outcomes.

Clinical Inquiry

  • Evaluate nursing practice quality and participate in evidence-based practice initiatives.
  • Support performance improvement and research-based care changes.

Caring Practices

  • Create a supportive and safe care environment.
  • Build therapeutic relationships while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
  • Address emotional and physical pain to promote healing and comfort.

Response to Diversity

  • Incorporate cultural spiritual and socioeconomic diversity into individualized care plans.
  • Respect and respond to unique patient and family values.

Advocacy and Moral Agency

  • Uphold patient confidentiality dignity autonomy and rights.
  • Address ethical and clinical concerns to ensure holistic care.

Facilitation of Learning

  • Educate patients families and healthcare teams across the care continuum.
  • Document learning needs and outcomes appropriately.

Partnership

  • Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams and delegate tasks appropriately.
  • Ensure timely communication and follow-up on care tasks.

  • Use available resources to problem-solve and prioritize safe and efficient care delivery.
  • Acknowledge resource limitations and patient safety requirements.

Professionalism

  • Engage in shared governance quality improvement and peer development.
  • Pursue continuous education certifications and professional organization involvement.
  • Actively participate in the healthcare community.
Key Success Factors:
  • Strong knowledge of CVOR nursing practices and patient care standards.
  • Familiarity with relevant laws regulations and healthcare protocols.
  • Excellent communication critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in observing patient condition changes and collaborating with medical teams.
  • Technological competence (e.g. Microsoft Office EHR systems).
  • Ability to deliver age-specific patient-centered care.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program
    (or 2 years of additional experience in lieu of formal education)
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of CVOR or perioperative nursing experience required
  • License/Certifications:
    • RN License Active and Valid (Texas state)
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) Required (or within 30 days of hire)
