RN - Intensive Care Unit (Permanent Role) Location: College Station TX 77845
Shift: 12 HR Nights 07:00 PM - 07:00 AM
Guaranteed Hours: (36 hours/week)
Compensation: Based on experience
Essential Responsibilities: - Conduct detailed clinical assessments of critically ill patients identifying and prioritizing individual patient and family needs.
- Develop implement and evaluate individualized care plans; modify as needed to meet evolving health outcomes.
- Establish and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients and their families while upholding professionalism and compassion.
- Educate patients families staff and community members on disease processes treatments medications and wellness strategies.
- Assess learning needs and document progress; tailor educational approaches accordingly.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and community resources to coordinate comprehensive care plans.
- Appropriately delegate nursing tasks and ensure timely follow-up to maintain patient safety.
- Apply critical thinking and problem-solving strategies in clinical situations.
- Recognize personal limits and seek guidance or escalate care when necessary.
- Contribute positively to team goals mentoring peers and participating in quality improvement initiatives.
Key Success Factors: - Strong understanding of nursing standards patient care procedures and clinical documentation.
- Knowledge of local and federal nursing laws standards and regulatory requirements.
- Familiarity with hospital policies protocols and medical terminology.
- Proficiency in health promotion disease management and medication safety.
- Adherence to nursing ethics and patient confidentiality.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Skilled in critical thinking decision-making and crisis management.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office electronic medical records scheduling software and secure email.
Qualifications: - Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Valid and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (must be obtained within 30 days of hire if not already certified).
- Minimum of 1 year of recent ICU experience.
