Job Description

Position Summary:

Bayhealth is seeking a Project Architect to lead new construction renovation master planning and lifecycle management initiatives across the enterprise. The ideal candidate will manage architectural design from concept through completion and serve as a technical leader for facilities planning. This role will coordinate with hospital departments regulatory agencies engineering firms and construction partners to deliver high-quality compliant and efficient healthcare environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee planning and design development of renovation and new construction projects ensuring feasibility and compliance with building codes and regulatory requirements.

Serve as Bayhealths primary representative on assigned projects managing substitutions changes and stakeholder engagement throughout.

Prepare or oversee plans specifications and budgets for both contracted and in-house projects.

Estimate costs and resource requirements using past experience and third-party estimators when needed.

Monitor construction progress perform site inspections and ensure work aligns with approved plans and specifications.

Lead regular coordination meetings with contractors architects engineers and inspectors.

Manage construction change orders justify revisions and ensure cost and value alignment.

Maintain comprehensive project documentation and ensure as-built records are up-to-date.

Ensure timely correction of deficiencies and monitor project performance through the warranty period.

Contribute to campus planning space utilization strategies and long-term facility development initiatives.

Perform additional planning and technical analyses as needed.

Required Qualifications:

Education: Bachelors degree in Architecture Engineering Design or related field

License: Active Architect Licensure

Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in architecture space planning or related field

Preferred Qualifications:

Education: Masters degree in Architecture Interior Design or a related field

Certifications: Healthcare-related certifications

Experience: Experience in healthcare design and construction
