Job Description: Junior Industrial Engineer (IE) Apparel Factory

Job Summary:
The Junior Industrial Engineer (IE) will support the continuous improvement of production processes in the apparel factory. The role focuses on data collection process analysis and implementation of efficiency initiatives on the shopfloor. The ideal candidate will have foundational knowledge of industrial engineering concepts and be eager to develop practical skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in monitoring daily production activities and collect relevant shopfloor data (output downtime efficiency etc.).
- Conduct time and motion studies for different operations to identify areas for cycle time reduction and productivity improvement.
- Support the implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices across production lines.
- Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks material wastage and process inefficiencies.
- Collaborate with production supervisors and operators to gather feedback and implement process improvements.
- Assist in preparing and maintaining key performance indicators (KPIs) such as line efficiency absenteeism and defect rates.
- Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) for quality or productivity issues and support corrective actions.
- Work with the maintenance team to monitor machine utilization and minimize downtime.
- Support compliance with health safety and quality standards on the shopfloor.
- Prepare basic reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to senior IEs and management.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree or diploma in Industrial Engineering Textile Engineering Production Engineering or a related field.
- 1 2 years of experience in an industrial engineering or production role within the apparel or textile industry.
- Basic understanding of industrial engineering tools (time study method study line balancing etc.).
- Proficiency in MS Excel and familiarity with basic data analysis.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective shopfloor coordination.
- Strong problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work in a team and adapt to changing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Exposure to industrial engineering concepts and other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience with shopfloor data collection tools or production tracking systems.
- Basic knowledge of garment manufacturing processes and machinery.
