Waiter Job Description
As a Waiter at a 5-star hotel you will be responsible for providing exceptional guest service in the food and beverage outlets. Your role will involve delivering professional courteous and personalized service to ensure guests have a memorable dining experience while maintaining the highest standards of hospitality and cleanliness.
Responsibilities:
- Warmly greet and accompany guests to their tables.
- Present menus explain dishes or specials and offer recommendations.
- Accurately take food and beverage orders and enter them into the POS system.
- Serve food and beverages professionally ensuring the right timing and sequence.
- Attend to guest needs promptly and politely responding to requests or complaints.
- Clear and reset tables between courses and after guests depart.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the dining area.
- Coordinate with the kitchen bar and stewarding teams for smooth service.
- Upsell beverages or special menu items to maximize guest satisfaction and revenue.
- Ensure compliance with 5-star service standards safety regulations and grooming policies.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (Hotel Management diploma is preferred)
- 1 2 years of experience as a waiter in a fine-dining or luxury hotel environment
- Fluent in English (additional languages are a plus)
- Knowledge of food service techniques menu items and wine pairing
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong focus on guest service and attention to detail
- Well-groomed appearance and confident personality
- Ability to work under pressure and in a team environment
- Familiarity with POS systems (e.g. Micros Oracle)
