Under the supervision of a licensed special education teacher the paraprofessional may assist with classroom management collecting data small group and individual instruction coaching monitoring direction/redirection and at times physical support for students with special needs. Job Qualifications:Paraprofessionals are expected to have attained a high school diploma or its equivalent two years of post-secondary education or an associates degree or successful completion of the Parapro or WorkKeys assessmentParaprofessionals should have prior experience working with children in a school settingPreferred skills include second language abilities experience working with special needs students and ABA strategies. RBT certification would be an asset to this and Responsibilities:Assisting students in achieving academic and social successesBehavior support which includes physical management (training provided upon hire)Personal careConsultation and collaboration with Special Education and Regular Education Teachers as well as related service staffAny and all other duties as may be assigned by the building administrator
