Design Consultant - Architectural Controls

Role description:

Arcadis is searching for an individual to join our Edmonton architectural design controls team. The position of Design Consultant Architectural Controls will include working on design approvals for a broad range of projects and administering them on our web platform as well as other platforms such as LotWorks. Based in Edmonton this is a full-time or partial hours position that offers flexibility within a hybrid work environment.

Role accountabilities:

• Creation of Design Guidelines including maps and house style graphics.
• Reviewing of house applications in relation to the guidelines and standards of the development within a web-based platform.
• Correspondence with builders and some homeowners.
• Physical site inspections on the exterior of homes (homes and landscapes).
• Prepare inspection reports.
• Get involved in other projects in the office on an as-required basis

Qualifications & Experience:

• Diploma in Architectural Technology or Landscape Architectural Technology or a related discipline related industry experience would be considered
• Strong interest in house design and land development
• Experience with house exterior design would be an asset
• Good design sense with creative problem-solving skills and a high attention to detail
• Strong computer skills in MS office Adobe etc. and web-based applications proficiency in CAD is an asset but not essential
• Excellent interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication skills and interest in dealing with a diverse range of clients including homebuilders and homeowners
• Good organizational and time management skills
