Job Title: Electrical Design Studies Engineer
Location: 100% Remote
Duration: Full Time
Job Description:
We are looking for five experienced Electrical Studies Engineers with 5 to 10 years of power delivery industry experience. This role is ideal for professionals passionate about power systems analysis protective relaying and delivering client-focused engineering solutions. Youll be part of a dynamic team supporting utility industrial and commercial clients across both conventional and renewable energy systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute electrical studies and protective relay settings projects.
- Analyze systems including generation facilities substations and transmission/distribution networks.
- Maintain and enhance client relationships through technical excellence and proactive communication. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to proposal development and business growth.
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders.
Technical Focus Areas
You will work in one or more of the following disciplines:
Design Studies
- Substation grounding EMF insulation coordination transient simulation power quality motor starting AC interference.
- Tools: CDEGS WinIGS ATP-EMTP PSCAD.
Protective Relaying
- Short circuit analysis coordination relay settings SCADA integration NERC compliance arc flash.
- Tools: SEL AcSELerator GE Enervista ASPEN Oneliner CAPE SKM-PTW ETAP RSCAD/RTDS.
Power System Planning
- Load flow contingency analysis interconnection studies voltage stability dynamic performance NERC compliance.
- Tools: PSS/E PSLF PowerWorld Python scripting.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE).
- Minimum 5 years of relevant power industry experience (10 years preferred).
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced coursework or training in protective relaying power system transients or electromagnetics. Professional Engineer (P.E. or .) license.
- Proficiency in multiple technical disciplines and associated software tools. Proven experience in customer-facing engineering projects.
