Job Description

Job Title: Electrical Design Studies Engineer

Location: 100% Remote

Duration: Full Time

Job Description:

We are looking for five experienced Electrical Studies Engineers with 5 to 10 years of power delivery industry experience. This role is ideal for professionals passionate about power systems analysis protective relaying and delivering client-focused engineering solutions. Youll be part of a dynamic team supporting utility industrial and commercial clients across both conventional and renewable energy systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute electrical studies and protective relay settings projects.
  • Analyze systems including generation facilities substations and transmission/distribution networks.
  • Maintain and enhance client relationships through technical excellence and proactive communication. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to proposal development and business growth.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders.

Technical Focus Areas

You will work in one or more of the following disciplines:

Design Studies

  • Substation grounding EMF insulation coordination transient simulation power quality motor starting AC interference.
  • Tools: CDEGS WinIGS ATP-EMTP PSCAD.

Protective Relaying

  • Short circuit analysis coordination relay settings SCADA integration NERC compliance arc flash.
  • Tools: SEL AcSELerator GE Enervista ASPEN Oneliner CAPE SKM-PTW ETAP RSCAD/RTDS.

Power System Planning

  • Load flow contingency analysis interconnection studies voltage stability dynamic performance NERC compliance.
  • Tools: PSS/E PSLF PowerWorld Python scripting.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE).
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant power industry experience (10 years preferred).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced coursework or training in protective relaying power system transients or electromagnetics. Professional Engineer (P.E. or .) license.
  • Proficiency in multiple technical disciplines and associated software tools. Proven experience in customer-facing engineering projects.

Additional Information

  • Occasional travel may be required.
