Job Description

ROLE SUMMARY

Vaccines is the only place in Pfizer where you can contribute to patients in a way like no other you can prevent sickness and disease. This is at the heart of what drive us every day and it brings us great #Joy. This role will be accountable to shape and drive the strategy for providing protection against Lyme disease in the US.

Lyme disease is a systemic infection caused by Borrelia burgdorferi bacteria transmitted to humans by the bite of infected Ixodes ticks. It is considered the most common vector-borne illness in the Northern Hemisphere. Early symptoms of Lyme disease (such as a gradually expanding erythematous rash called erythema migrans or other nonspecific symptoms like fatigue fever headache mild stiff neck muscle and joint pains) are often overlooked or misinterpreted. Left untreated the disease can disseminate and cause more serious chronic complications affecting the skin joints (arthritis) heart (carditis) or nervous system. Preventive measures for Lyme disease are limited by their effectiveness and compliance (e.g. insect repellent removing ticks promptly and reducing tick habitat) and no vaccine is currently available. The medical need for vaccination against Lyme disease is steadily increasing as the geographic footprint of the disease widens.

LB6V (formerly known as VLA-15) is currently undergoing Phase 3 development for the prevention of Lyme Disease in individuals 5 years of age and expected FDA approval in 1H 2027 a US marketing team for LB6V is being formed to advance key pre-launch workstreams.

The US Lyme HCP Marketing Lead will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the branded and unbranded launch strategy for healthcare professionals (HCPs). Reporting to the Senior Director Lyme Team Lead this role will collaborate closely with Global teams to drive brand positioning message platform development and omnichannel engagement in the US. The ideal candidate brings deep marketing expertise vaccine experience and a proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives in a highly matrixed environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Insights Generation Value Proposition & Positioning

  • Champion & synthesize US HCP insights in partnership with Analytics (patient journey landscape analysis positioning). and translate them into actionable campaigns initiatives and tactics
  • Define and localize HCP value proposition for both retail and non-retail audiences ensuring alignment with broader stakeholder needs (e.g. market access patients regulators public affairs policy)
  • Collaborate with Global to finalize HCP segmentation and activate engagement strategy

HCP Promotional Platform

  • Build strategic core claims ensuring alignment with clinical program regulatory strategy and label and real-world data plan to support key claims
  • Lead development of a branded HCP message platform creative campaign and core promotional resources
  • Co-create unbranded campaigns and messaging platforms with Global
  • Collaborate with Global to finalize key branding elements and creative execution to support the brand identity
  • Design and implement omnichannel strategy & activities with a focus on HCPs
  • Define customer engagement goals & coordination of customer journey development content creation and journey orchestration
  • Develop customer-facing training platform and content in close coordination with the training team
  • Determine optimal peer to peer engagement plan and oversee Medical Education platform including Congresses Symposia Speaker Programs etc.

Agency & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Leverage cross-Pfizer and Vaccine best practices and learning to incorporate into launch planning
  • Partner with CMO in innovation and experimentation efforts
  • Oversee agency of record ensuring clear and robust scopes of work appropriate staffing excellence in execution and timely and efficient budget management
  • Support annual operating and tactical plan development process focused on HCP strategy and activation

Competitive Strategy

  • Continually monitor competitive landscape and maintain updated knowledge about competitor clinical data and timelines and relevant implications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree required; MBA or other advanced degree preferred
  • 8 years pharma marketing experience preference for vaccines experience
  • Prior launch experience in the US is highly preferred
  • Strong understanding of GLocal marketing principles and healthcare market landscape
  • Exceptional strategic marketing and commercial planning as well as project and cross-functional team management skills
  • Comfort with ambiguity and complex white space environments
  • Active contribution to create and operate in an environment that continuously embraces and encourages the implementation of innovative ideas and fosters a culture of collaboration and teamwork
  • An absolute commitment to adherence to all applicable compliance rules and regulations
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work on multiple tasks with a strong sense of urgency and enthusiasm while prioritizing and meeting team goals

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • US Pharma Industry and Vaccines Business Knowledge: Understands trends in health care and pharmaceuticals; customer and stakeholder landscape competitive dynamics regulatory and access environment delivery systems channels and sources of business in the US. Understands the drug development process. Uses knowledge of industry and market trends to develop strategies and to quantify business ideas
  • Research & Analytics: Demonstrates understanding of analytic tool/methods ability to generate strong customer insights and market intelligence. Effectively links insights to implications to inform strategy planning and execution
  • Collaboration: Works effectively within teams and across organizations and enterprise; shares responsibilities and credit; take appropriate risks; celebrates/rewards accomplishments; demonstrates and instills in others a sense of urgency and ownership
  • Influencing & Communications: Clearly articulates business direction and priorities expectations and action plans; effectively communicates actively listens with the others frame of reference in mind; shares information with team members and stakeholders; Strong presentation skills sufficient to Global BU Leadership and ELT level and to external audiences.
  • Prioritization: Ability to prioritize asset/assets priorities value drivers and resource allocation required to optimize growth.
  • Agility: builds broad accountability trusts and empowers and adapts own style to fit needs of the situation and individual.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $156600.00 to $261000.00. In addition this position is eligible for participation in Pfizers Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
