QVC Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of Liberty Interactive Corporation is the worlds leading video and ecommerce retailer. We are currently seeking an experienced Global Insurance Risk Director. You will responsible for managing the daily Insurance functions for the Company providing internal recommendations on insurance needs and coordination with brokers for all US functions and guidance and direction including recommending policy and best practices for all QVC Global Markets. Reporting to the VP of Treasury you will also facilitate and coordinate the Insurance relationship and needs with our parent company. As QVCs Global Insurance Risk Manager you will develop and execute Insurance processes to support the global enterprise and support QVC and Libertys objectives. The position is based outside of Philadelphia at our Studio Park headquarters in West Chester PA.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and lead Insurance initiatives in the US and in markets (in concert with matrix/dotted line reports)
- Perform risk analysis and assessment to determine adequate limits and retentions including for foreign subsidiaries and locations to assure compliance with local laws
- Work with various insurance brokers to evaluate exposures to loss and determine QVC strategy; Coordinate US Global insurance policies
- Perform risk analysis and assessment to determine adequate limits and retentions especially for foreign subsidiaries and locations to assure compliance with local laws
- Partner with various internal functions on new and ongoing insurance issues
- Advise and guide specific insurance needs for international markets as needed
- Oversee all claims by QVC on US based policies support and monitor claims on international market specific polices including monitoring large US WC GL claim activity by carrier
- Demonstrate an awareness of new issues and best practices in the field of risk management
- Support Legal Procurement Global Development and other functions on specific contract reviews as they relate to insurance issues. Analyze and make recommendations on insurance provisions in contracts.
- Guide US administration activities including but not limited to:
- Administration of small Auto GL and other claims
- Providing proof of insurance
- Vendor COI database service provider COI storage
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Finance/Accounting/Insurance or related field or an equivalent combination of related training and experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge with 7 years of relevant experience in Corporate Risk/Insurance
- Experience in a global risk management environment or insurance management
- Strong knowledge of insurance and risk management industry and practices
- Strong grasp understanding and experience in transacting and coordinating Global insurance and risk related issues and practices
- Ability to work in a matrix environment to help develop others to develop plan and execute best practices to efficiently manage compliance and related risk strategies
- Ability to provide thought leadership expertise to US and international markets on all matters related to insurance
- Strong Negotiating and influencing skills
- Ability to identify and recommend effective solutions to problems working individually and with others within and outside the function
- Strong Microsoft Office Word and Excel skills and capabilities
- Exhibit self-initiative but be comfortable in the role of a team player
- Strong engagement skills that build credibility and influence with stakeholders
- Excellent communications and presentation skills able to inform and persuade both orally and in writing to all levels of management
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters degree is plus
- Corporate experience preferred
- Broker experience a plus
