Job Description

Department: FM-PRO Finance
Reports to: Manager Corporate Finance
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Status: Permanent Full-Time
Closing Date: August 8 2025

The Cost Controller is responsible for supporting the financial aspects of the FM-PRO portfolio while adhering to all UHN policies regulatory requirements and audit accountabilities to maintain appropriate internal and financial controls.

Duties:

  • Prepare month close journal entries
  • Assist with the preparation of the annual operating budget and quarterly operating forecasts as well as Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Prepare monthly variance analysis reports for senior management to facilitate the decision making
  • Provide assistance to FM-PRO Managers in controlling their operating budgets
  • Create ad-hoc management reports
  • Represent Finance in various FM-PRO projects
  • Create and/or evaluate assigned Business cases
  • Perform other responsibilities to support the directorate and cross-functional and other duties consistent with the job classification as required

Qualifications :

  • CPA designation - required
  • Performance reporting experience min 2 years
  • Experience in an accounting or auditing environment with exposure to financial modeling
  • Experience with information technology control processes and systems
  • Experience with activity workflow and organizational analysis for business/process re-engineering or efficiency improvements preferred
  • Experience in reporting highly summarized data to senior management preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of Excel
  • Experience in a healthcare environment preferred
  • Experience in a commercial industry preferred
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational time management and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills
  • Ability to take initiative and embrace challenges
  • Computer literacy required preferably in a Microsoft office environment with an aptitude for learning new computer applications quickly
  • Adheres to confidentiality policy for sensitive financial data and information
