Join Us as a Skills Instructor
As a Skills Instructor youll work directly with adults with developmental disabilities helping them cultivate essential skills for successful employment meaningful volunteer work pursuing post-secondary education and active community participation in various settings to achieve greater independence.
What Youll Do
- Provide person-centered instruction through planned community activities.
- Support individuals in accessing community resources planning engaging activities and strengthening their skill sets.
- Take individuals on community outingswhether for appointments errands or just to enjoy the day.
- Track and document progress capturing accurate and concise case notes.
- Redirect inappropriate behaviors and facilitate positive resolutions to challenges.
- Work collaboratively with a team of professionals to ensure comprehensive support.
What You Bring
- A caring heart and a commitment to helping others live with dignity and independence.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
- A valid drivers license personal vehicle and insurance.
- Willingness to undergo a state and federal fingerprint background check.
- CPR Certification and a recent TB test (we can help you obtain both if needed).
- Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plusbut if you bring passion and dedication well provide the training.
