About the workplace
This is a permanent full-time role will enjoy hybrid working arrangements which can be fulfilled primarily from the Vancity head office location in Vancouver and your Lower Mainland based home office. This role may require you to work on-site at least once a week.
We are looking for an Enterprise Risk Management Consultant Climate Risk to help shape how we assess manage and mitigate climate-related risks across our organization. This is a unique opportunity to design and embed the Climate Risk Management Framework to meet evolving regulatory expectations strengthen enterprise-wide resilience and protect our long-term sustainability.
A typical day would involve:
- Lead the design and enhancement of the Climate Risk Management Framework including related policies procedures assessments and reporting mechanisms.
- Support the implementation of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework and Risk Appetite Framework ensuring climate risk is reflected and integrated in a meaningful measurable way.
- Roll out improved risk processes across the organization that help identify assess monitor and report climate-related financial and non-financial risks.
- Develop tools and methodologies that strengthen operational resilience protect the organizations reputation and support alignment with regulatory guidance (e.g. OSFI B-15) and Vancity s Climate Transition Plan.
- Provide expertise in scenario analysis climate-related stress testing climate disclosures and forward-looking risk indicators.
- Create clear visually compelling reporting and dashboards for senior leadership and the Board.
- Partner with business units and functional teams to embed climate risk practices into day-to-day operations and strategic planning.
- Champion a culture of risk awareness sustainability and accountability across the enterprise.
You have:
- Bachelors degree in Risk Management Environmental Science Finance Business Administration Public Policy or related field (Masters degree or professional designation is an asset).
- 5 years of experience in enterprise risk ESG/climate risk or sustainability-related roles within financial services or similarly regulated industries.
- Strong understanding of climate-related regulatory frameworks (e.g. OSFI B-15 IFRS)
- Experience developing or supporting risk frameworks and policies including Climate ERM and Risk Appetite.
- Familiarity with regulatory expectations related to climate risk and sustainable finance.
- Canadian Risk Management certification.
- Experience leading and managing projects is beneficial
- Proficient in risk reporting and dashboard creation for senior stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
- Excellent stakeholder management communication and advisory skills across business.

- A communicator you simplify complex climate risk concepts for diverse audiences from frontline managers to Board committees using verbal written and visual storytelling to drive engagement and alignment.
- Detail-oriented you ensure accuracy in risk documentation dashboards and regulatory reporting while driving consistent follow-through on remediation plans issue tracking and program enhancements.
The salary range for this role is $81200 to $122000 annually. The midpoint of the salary range is approximately halfway between the minimum and the maximum and represents an employee that possesses full job knowledge qualifications and experience for the position. Base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications skills previous experience and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program subject to program eligibility requirements.
