The Aboriginal Social and Emotional Wellbeing Centre is a place of hope grounded in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander customs values spiritual connection to ancestral lands seas and waters and cultural knowledge. It offers a culturally safe and welcoming environment where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people can access support for their mental health and social and emotional wellbeing. The Centre takes a holistic whole person approach that respects and includes traditional healing methods. Staff are culturally aware trauma-informed recovery-focused and provide warm non-judgemental and compassionate care.
Centre Implementation:
Our centre is set to officially commence service delivery October are now recruiting passionate enthusiastic staff who are not only committed to delivering accessible and culturally safe care but who are also excited by the unique opportunity to help shape something from the ground our team at this early stage means being part of a start-up environment. One that values innovation flexibility and a strong sense of purpose. We are seeking individuals who are eager to contribute to the implementation of new programs and services help refine processes and play an active role in creating a welcoming inclusive and impactful space for our community.
Position Commencement: We are aiming to commence staff on the 1st of September 2025.

Location: While our permanent centre is being established in the CBD positions will be based at Sonder Marion and Sonder Port Adelaide.

As our Aboriginal Community Consultant (Narrative Therapy Practitioner) youll combine therapeutic practice with deep cultural knowledge to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals families and communities. Grounded in cultural ways of healing this role uses storytelling art dance and on-Country practices to guide people through their healing offer narrative therapy and culturally grounded conversations that help people make meaning of their experiences reconnect with identity and strengthen cultural ties. As a key cultural connector youll also support the Centres relationship with communities provide cultural guidance to staff and help embed Aboriginal knowledge across service role is part of a multidisciplinary team committed to culturally safe whole-of-life care shaped by the hopes strengths and lived experiences of community.
