Job Description

Join Our Team as a Senior Accountant in Tucson AZ!

KE&G Construction Inc. a 100% employee-owned company is looking for a motivated and experienced Staff Accountant to join our dynamic team in Tucson Arizona.

Senior accountants core responsibilities include managing Accounts Receivable Transaction Privilege Tax Bond reconciliation and assisting in month/quarter and annual reconciliations and other projects as assigned such as Equipment Management and Fixed Assets.


Position requires developing and maintaining professional relationships with colleagues and a solid understanding of general ledger accounting US GAAP account reconciliation and strong financial analysis skills.

Experience in similar capacities in the Construction or Manufacturing industries is required and must possess strong Excel skills including advanced functions highly organized and enjoy working in a team environment with both Accounting and Operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Receivable entry of invoices and payments into Textura and into our ERP.
  • Preparation of monthly transaction privilege tax.
  • Bank reconciliations for multiple entities.
  • Monitoring project bonds.
  • Maintain fixed assets.
  • Equipment cost reconciliation (owned & rented).
  • Preparation and maintain personal property tax schedules.
  • Prepare daily bank reconciliation for multiple entities and accounts.
  • Reconcile all to general ledger and to job cost if applicable.
  • Maintain Job costs and billing records.
  • Prepares annual personal property tax reports.
  • Assists in monthly general ledger reconciliation and roll forwards.
  • Assists in the preparation of monthly financial statements and year-end audit.
  • Ad-Hoc reporting as required
  • Additional duties may be assigned as needed

Minimum Experience Required
  • 3 years of general ledger accounting in a Construction or Manufacturing industry for medium to large companies.
  • 2 years of cost accounting.
  • Mastery in advanced functions of Excel.
  • Working knowledge of GAAP.
  • Full understanding of General Ledger/Financial Statements.
  • Strong financial analysis skills.
  • Power BI experience is a plus!
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Highly adaptable to new responsibilities.
  • Ability to handle multiple concurrent efforts and provide high-quality deliverables accurately and timely.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions
  • Office work environment.
  • No travel.
  • Capability to push pull lift reach and carry at least 20 pounds.
  • Occassional stooping kneeling and crouching may be required.
  • Use of fingers and hands for operating a computer or other electronic devices.
  • For formal written or verbal communications is primarily the English language.
  • Ability to convey detailed and accurate instructions and information verbally.
Requirements:
  • Bachelors in accounting or business management with a minor in accounting or 10 years of relevant experience may be considered in place of a degree provided you meet the minimum qualifications.

Pay Data
  • Starting salary is $85000/Annually DOE
