Job Description & Summary

We are seeking to recruit a Cloud DevOps Lead to join our team in Cairo.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 7 years experience. They will be developing

a reputation within the IT market having worked on 7 DevOps projects (at least two different DevOps solutions & at least 6 months on each project);

providing valued thought leadership and opinion. They will be building a strong professional network and have a growing presence in the Engineering ecosystem.


You will be part of a team that reports to the Cloud Service Delivery Director and will be an integral part of the team based in Cairo as well as those delivering client transformation programs across the PwC Global Network including the UK Germany and Middle East.

We are seeking to recruit an Infrastructure and Recovery Manager to join our team in Cairo.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in infrastructure architecture and operations. They will have developed a strong reputation in the IT infrastructure domain having led multiple large-scale transformation and recovery projects across hybrid and multi-cloud environments. Their expertise will span infrastructure design disaster recovery virtualization and backup technologies with a proven ability to align technical solutions with business resilience goals.

You will be part of a team that reports to senior leadership and will play a key role in delivering client-facing transformation programs across the PwC Global Network including the UK Germany and the Middle East.

As an Infrastructure & Recovery Manager you will be responsible for leading the design implementation and governance of secure scalable and resilient infrastructure solutions. You will work closely with client stakeholders engineering teams and risk leaders to ensure infrastructure excellence disaster recovery readiness and operational efficiency. Your deep knowledge of cloud platforms backup technologies and FinOps practices will be instrumental in driving innovation and business continuity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure Architecture and Operations
    • Lead the design deployment and optimization of secure scalable and high-performance infrastructure across hybrid environments. Manage Windows/Linux systems networking storage and virtualization platforms.
  • Disaster Recovery and Business Resilience
    • Design and implement enterprise-grade disaster recovery solutions with isolation rapid restore and analytical readiness. Implement and maintain secure out-of-band (OOB) communication channels to ensure resilient coordination during critical incidents and infrastructure stakeholder workshops to align recovery strategies with business needs and regulatory requirements.

  • Backup and Recovery Solutions
    • Implement and manage backup technologies such as Rubrik Cohesity Commvault and Veeam. Ensure data protection rapid recovery and compliance with business continuity standards.
  • Asset Management:
    • Oversee the full lifecycle of infrastructure and software assets ensuring compliance observability and predictive maintenance through automation.
  • FinOps & TCO Optimization:
    • Apply FinOps principles drive visibility and cost optimization across cloud environments. Support budgeting forecasting and governance of cloud investments.
  • Site Reliability Engineering (SRE)
    • Define and monitor SLIs and SLOs to ensure alignment with performance and availability targets. Lead incident response processes and post-incident reviews to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement. Implement and manage observability solutions (e.g. Azure Monitor & New Relic) to proactively monitor system health performance and security. Conduct in-depth performance assessments and execute remediation strategies to optimize infrastructure reliability and scalability.
  • Agile and DevOps Enablement
    • Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using tools like Terraform & Ansible and integrate CI/CD and DevSecOps practices into infrastructure workflows. Collaborate with development and risk teams to ensure secure scalable environments.
  • Mentorship and Technical Leadership
    • Mentor and guide infrastructure and operations engineers fostering expertise in system administration cloud architecture disaster recovery and automation. Promote best practices continuous learning and a culture of resilience and innovation.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Communication
    • Act as the primary technical liaison for clients and internal stakeholders. Communicate infrastructure strategies recovery plans and operational risks clearly and effectively. Ensure alignment between technical solutions and business continuity objectives.

Essential Skills & Attributes

  • 8 years of hands-on experience in infrastructure architecture and operations.
  • Deep expertise in system administration virtualization and cloud platforms.
  • Strong understanding of disaster recovery analytical readiness and business continuity.
  • Proven experience with backup technologies and disaster recovery planning.
  • Experience in implementing secure out-of-band (OOB) communications.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Passion for automation observability and continuous improvement.
