Job Description
MUFG Investor Services is seeking a Junior Software Test Engineer to join our IT team in our Rockville MD office.
Job Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of this position will be involved in creating the test cases needed for functional regression and integration suites supporting the business functionality for the application. This position will work within a team to plan design and execute test cases either manually or using automation testing tools.
Some of the traits for success in this position are possessing strong analytical and aptitiude skills being enthusiastic and having a desire to learn. A high degree of organization and effective communication are also critical.
The successful candidate will work directly with the other members of IT and the business to ensure deliverables fall within the applicable scope and meet the needs of the business.
Specific Responsibilities
- Assisting in creation of test plans and strategies for articulating the scenarios.
- Working with developers and SME in understanding the business functionality and designing required test suites.
- Execute test cases manually or though automated testing tools to identify defects in the applications.
- Documenting defects found with details like to severity impact and its reproducting steps in the defect tracking systems.
- Creating the regression suites needed and helping the devOps team to automate them in pipelines.
- Assist in performance testing activities including load testing stress testing and scalability testing to ensure the software meets performance requirements.
- Collaborating with devleopers business and other team members to ensure a thorough understanding of requirements and to facilitate effective communication throughout the testing process.
- Assist in ensuring that software products meet quality standards and specifications by actively participating in testing activities and adhering to established processes and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with team members stakeholders and management regarding testing process issues and recommendations.
- Conitnously improve skills and knowledge through training sessions self-study and on-the-job learning opportunities to enhance effectiveness as a Junior Test Engineer.
