Math Teacher: The Clara Martin Centers East Valley Academy school program is a vital resource for students who struggle to thrive in a traditional public school setting. These students have trauma backgrounds and are in need of significant academic differentiation and basic skill building. EVA is a small independent school with roughly 15 employees and 12-24 students depending on enrollment. We are seeking an instructor to teach middle school and high school math in this unique alternative school combine curriculum-based instruction with adventure-based learning to maximize student engagement. Successful candidate must have the ability to embrace a non-traditional student focused teaching style. We strive to help our students achieve their true potential and we support both their educational needs as well as their mental health needs in the blended Functions: Develop and implement a curriculum and behavioral plans for assigned students and to be responsible for all learning activities in the classroom. Responsible for reviewing student work & homework and submitted grades. Review outline of curriculum and program plan with school Program Director consultation from the Special Education Teacher to meet the needs of Individualized Education Plans. Attend meetings with parents and sending school regarding assigned students. Work as a team member. Work collaboratively with teachers parents clinicians community groups and programs. Assist and model appropriate problem-solving skills social skills life skills and a healthy : Candidate does not need to be licensed but must have a bachelors degree in math or related area.
