Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:
The Monarch School Assistant Director is responsible for assisting in educational programming oversight and management of the school. In the Directors absence the Assistant Director assumes responsibility for the school. The Assistant Director is responsible for supporting educational service delivery including but not limited to: strategic planning management of finances stakeholder relations compliance; staffing resource procurement facilities management and mission-driven leadership.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  1. Work in conjunction with the Director of the Monarch School to provide administrative supervision to the program and staff including but not limited to hiring supervision evaluation disciplinary actions and termination of employees.
  2. Support the development of an enhanced training group with an emphasis on supervision requirements and the development of a more comprehensive system for performance management.
  3. Collaborate with the director on the oversight of related services ways of structuring these supports and utilizing resources in a productive manner.
  4. Work cohesively with the Director of the Monarch School to align the internal culture with the programs strategic objectives and values fostering a positive productive and effective environment.
  5. Organize and manage systems for the delivery of excellent educational programming for all students.
  6. Ensure that educational service delivery for students aligns with Individualized Education Plans adheres to the principles of the Monarch Model and is coordinated with other inpatient services being offered.
  7. Lead strategic planning efforts for improvements in education which ensures that there is an ongoing process of quality improvement across all operational domains.
  8. Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards that govern educational service delivery for all students in the programs.
  9. Participate in annual budgeting process for education and support the director in the management of operations throughout the fiscal year to achieve financial goals.
  10. Ensure symbiotic service coordination with the broader Monarch School allowing other departments and teams to feel connected to the Agencys mission maintain good working relationships with one another and support one another as they are able.
  11. Participate in training/development of the Monarch Model and data/outcomes management system.
  12. Oversee curriculum development and assessment for all students in the programs.
  13. Work with staff on Individualized Education Plan development review and implementation.
  14. Ensure that data collected by staff is correct complete and prompt.
  15. Contribute to the development and maintenance of the clinical record through the timely completion of assigned documentation in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards.
  16. As necessary utilize Safety Care procedures including at a minimum make use of the necessary Two-Person Stability Hold.
OTHER DUTIES:
  1. All required trainings certifications and licensure must be kept current in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards.
  2. Contribute to the development and maintenance of the clinical record through the timely completion of assigned documentation in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards.
  3. Respect the privacy of clients and hold in confidence all information obtained during the clients treatment. All client-related documents should be handled in accordance with Agency guidelines on confidential material.
  4. Maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct and adhere to Agency policies and procedures.
  5. Other duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Education: Masters Degree in Education; Intervention Specialist license preferred. Bachelors Degree required.
  2. Licensure: Ohio Teaching Certification required.
  3. Competency/Skills:

  • Professional & Ethical Conduct: Adhere to professional values such as honesty personal responsibility and accountability; Applies ethical concepts within scope of work and adheres to Agency policies and procedures.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Function effectively as a member of a professional team that includes employees clients and family members.
  • Problem Solving & Decision Making: Recognize problems and responds appropriately; gathers information and sorts through it to identify and address root cause issues; makes timely decisions.
  • Service Orientation: Anticipate recognize and meet the needs of others whether they are clients or not.
  • Technical Proficiency: Demonstrate competence in utilizing Agency computer systems and software as required to perform essential job functions.
  • Leadership: Proven effective leadership skills to ensure departmental engagement and success.
  • Pass Safety Care Core Curriculum by passing the written exam attending the full duration of training participating and passing the required role plays and demonstrating the full competencies up to and including the Two-Person Stability Hold required.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations by remaining calm and professional while working with students and staff.
  • Must have regular and predictable attendance.
  • Proficiency in crisis management and active problem-solving when prompt decision-making and action are necessary.
  1. Experience: 3-5 years of experience in teaching children with autism strongly preferred.
    1. years of experience working with families school districts and supportive agencies strongly preferred.
