Duties/Responsibilities
The primary role of the CULearn Graduate Assistant (GA) is to serve as the first point of contact for undergraduate students who have received a Navigate Alert. The Navigate Alert is a tool used to promote communication among undergraduate students their current professors and professional staff members. The purpose of the Navigate Alert is to connect students with resources to help them succeed in their current courses. The CULearn GA must maintain awareness of the various resources on campus for supporting students academically and personally. Within the framework of a highly structured communication protocol the CULearn GA is responsible for initiating outreach to students and documenting communications made and received in Navigate.
The CULearn GA supports the Director of Academic Support in recruiting training and orientation of student tutors and office assistants. Additionally the CULearn GA manages and updates student worker schedules.
The CULearn GA serves as the initial point of contact for students visiting CULearn assisting them with scheduling tutoring and writing support appointments.
The CULearn GA supports both the Director of Academic Support and the Associate Dean of Students Academic Resources with additional projects and duties as assigned.
The ideal Graduate Assistant will be a graduate student at Concordia University Chicago in any of the graduate programs and will have a strong interest in working with students and supporting their academic and personal growth.
Candidates must be enrolled or planning to enroll in a Concordia University Chicago graduate program. Must be continuously enrolled for at least 6 hours each in the fall and spring semesters (regardless of when the hours are taken during the semester) and at least 3 hours in the summer semester. Must complete a background screening.
