Job Description

Title: Grade 8 - Middle School Math - Long Term Substitute TeacherLocation: Curtis Middle SchoolReports to: PrincipalPosition Summary: Ephraim Curtis Middle School is seeking a qualified Math Teacher to work full time as a Long Term Substitute from August 25 2025-January 2026. Key Duties & Responsibilities:Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students varying needs and interests;Establish and communicate to students clear objectives for all lessons units and projects;Plan and implement effective instruction as described by the NCTMs Mathematics Teaching Practices;Design collaborative engaging learning experiences for students;Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of struggling learners and those needing additional challengesEstablish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among the students for whom they are responsible;Administer standardized ability and achievement tests;Maintain accurate complete and correct student records as required by laws district policies and administrative regulations;Observe and evaluate students performance behavior social development and physical health;Provide students with descriptive accurate and timely feedback on assessments including strengths weaknesses and next steps for progress toward the learning targets;Enforce all administration policies and rules governing students;Confer with parents or guardians other teachers counselors and administrators in order to resolve students behavioral and academic problems;Meet with parents and guardians to discuss their childrens progress and to determine their priorities for their children and their resource needs;Meet with other professionals to discuss individual students needs and progress;Attend professional meetings educational conferences and teacher training workshops to maintain and improve professional competence;Attend staff meetings and serve on staff committees as required;Complete other related duties as : Collective Bargaining AgreementHiring is contingent upon a successful CORI and fingerprinting clearance. All finalists will be required to provide official : Resumes will be reviewed upon receipt and the position will remain open until : $250/day in accordance with the SPS Substitute Pay Guidelines (DESE license required in related field)
