Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Piping Design Engineer with specialised expertise in HDPE (High-Density Polyethene) and GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) piping systems. In this role you will be responsible for designing developing and testing new and existing piping systems for a variety of industrial and infrastructure projects. You will create detailed designs ensure compliance with industry standards and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate piping systems into larger projects. This position requires a strong understanding of engineering principles advanced design software and manufacturing processes specific to HDPE and GRP materials.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and Development
- Create piping layouts isometrics and detailed specifications for the manufacturing and construction of HDPE and GRP piping systems.
- Conduct stress analysis and hydraulic calculations for piping systems to ensure safety reliability and compliance.
- Select appropriate materials fittings and components for HDPE and GRP piping applications.
- Develop 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD SolidWorks or similar).
Technical Support
- Provide technical guidance and support to engineers designers and project teams regarding HDPE and GRP piping systems.
- Troubleshoot design issues and deliver effective solutions throughout the project lifecycle.
- Participate in design reviews risk assessments and ensure adherence to relevant codes and standards (e.g. ISO ASTM ASME).
Collaboration
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical civil electrical etc.) to integrate piping systems into complex projects.
- Liaise with manufacturing construction and quality assurance teams to ensure successful project execution.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in piping design specifically with HDPE and GRP systems.
- Proficiency in CAD software for 2D and 3D design.
- Solid understanding of piping codes standards and best practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred:
- Experience in industrial water or infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
