Job Description
Position: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) - CVOR
Start Date: 8/4/2025
Duration: 13 weeks
Location: Midland MI 48670
Shift Type/Shift Times/Hours/Day: Days 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM 10
Shift Notes: 6:30A 5:00P (10-Hour Days) / 1-2 Call Nights per Week & Every Third Weekend / Every Third Weekend (40-Hour Guarantee)
Weekend Requirements: Every Third Weekend
On-Call Requirements: 1-2 Call Nights per Week & Every Third Weekend
COVID Vaccination: COVID vaccinations are not required but strongly encouraged.
Travel Policy: Candidates Permanent Address (Facility will not consider local candidates - 35-mile radius restriction)
Dress Code: Hospital-Provided Scrubs
Summary: This individual fills the role of surgical technologist II in the Operating Room. They understand and demonstrate knowledge of surgical procedures. Assure all supplies and equipment are available for the procedure and in working condition. Confirm and/or assemble sterile instruments for use correctly. Anticipate the needs of the surgeon. They assist in keeping an accurate account of drugs sharps and instruments. They are responsible for maintaining and monitoring the sterile field.
Responsibilities
- (30%)* Demonstrates knowledge of surgical procedures and ability to problem solve about the procedure being performed. Verifies items on the physician preference card. Accountable for supplies so that accurate patient charges are billed.
- (30%)* Demonstrates proper use of equipment assembling of equipment disposables as well as cleaning and sterilizing. Ensures all equipment supplies and instruments are assembled correctly and in working condition for the surgical procedure.
- (30%)* Maintains the sterile environment. Monitors the sterile field and recognizes breaks in technique.
- (10%)* Sets up sterile field with instruments promptly. Keeps accurate account of all medications sponges instruments and sharps on the sterile fields per policy.
- 5 Years of Experience - Required
- Open Heart Experience - Required
- BLS (AHA) and NBSTSA - Required
- Tertiary care center and/or designated level I or II trauma center experience - Required
- Travel experience - Highly Preferred
- Work History
- Skills Checklist current to 1 year pertinent to the specialty
- 2 Supervisory Reference Forms taken within the last two years
- BLS (AHA)
