Job Description

Sonographer (Permanent Role)

Location: Fort Worth TX 76104
Shift: 10 HR Days 07:30 AM - 06:00 PM
Guaranteed Hours: (40 hours/week)
Compensation: Based on experience

Essential Functions:
  • Perform high-quality ultrasound procedures across multiple specialties using advanced imaging techniques.
  • Identify and interpret abnormalities modify scanning techniques as needed and correlate with other diagnostic results.
  • Assist in operating rooms and procedure rooms with real-time ultrasound guidance to support complex interventions.
  • Obtain patient history and adjust imaging based on clinical indications and findings.
  • Educate and communicate with patients regarding exam purpose and process.
  • Follow all system workflows including PACS EMR image exchange and equipment maintenance.
  • Document procedure details and maintain lab logs. Report equipment issues promptly.
  • Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for staff students and new team members.
  • Support accreditation and quality assurance initiatives.
  • Keep current with technological advances and implement new imaging protocols as appropriate.
  • Perform equipment quality checks and troubleshoot issues per manufacturer guidelines.
Key Success Factors:
  • Proficiency in at least two specialties (e.g. OB/GYN Cardiac Vascular Musculoskeletal Small Parts) and work a minimum of 25% of time in the second modality.
  • Pediatric and adult scopes are treated as separate specialties.
  • Strong anatomical and physiological knowledge relevant to specialty areas.
  • Proficient in sonographic instrumentation and scanning techniques.
  • Familiarity with infection control standards and HIPAA regulations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Competent in the use of imaging systems and medical records software.
  • Leadership ability to train and support new staff or technology rollouts.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Graduate of an Accredited Sonography Program or 2 years of work experience above the minimum requirement.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience.
  • Certifications (must have BLS any two of the following):
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) must be current or obtained within 30 days of hire.
    • Must have TWO of the following certifications:
      • ARDMS (RDMS): Abdomen (AB) OB/GYN (OB) Breast (BR) Pediatric (PS) Fetal Echo (FE)
      • Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI): RCS RCCS RVS
      • ARRT-S or ARRT-VI
      • RDCS RDCS-PE
      • RVT MSK ACS
