Whats the role
Are you passionate and committed about protecting people/communities from financial crime
Join the Westpac team as a Fraud & Scams Officer where you will play an integral role in preventing detecting and responding to fraudulent activity across our banking channels.
You will across multiple platforms including online banking telephone banking in-branch transactions and mobile applications across all Westpac Group Brands.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting customers who have been impacted by fraud/scams
- Monitor and respond to fraud alerts investigate suspicious transactions and take appropriate actions to mitigate any risks
- Handle inbound/outbound calls with care and provide a positive customer experience in challenging situations
- Provide empathetic and effective support to customers impacted by fraud/scams
- Creating complete Fraud case files
- Identifying and recommending continuous improvement solutions
These are full-time permanent positions based at our Parramatta office and starting on the 1st of September 2025. Our centre is operational 24/7 and we may require you to work across these times. You will be considered a shift worker in line with our Enterprise Agreement and will receive financial compensation if you are rostered outside of core hours.
We will provide you with 4 weeks of full-time training Monday to Friday during business hours with ongoing training and support once you transition into your teams. Hybrid arrangements are available after the first 3-6 months.
What do I need
- Experience in a Fraud & Scams/anti-crime environment
- Investigative mindset reinforced by strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Experience and passion for providing consistent and superior level of customer service
- Ability to work and navigate multiple banking systems across various platforms
- Knowledge of banking products and services
- Experience in a contact centre experience highly desirable
