Job Description
The successful candidate for this position will be a 1099 contractor with Music Ministry International and be responsible for the following:
1.1 Description of Services/Introduction: This is a non-personal service(s) contract to provide a Music Service for the International Chapel Protestant Faith Community at JFC Brunssum the Netherlands.
1.2 Background: The services of a Religious Music fall under the USAG Benelux Chaplains Religious Support Program as defined in the Commanders Master Religious Program (CMRP). The mission of the Chaplains Religious Support Program is to provide military religious support activities that meet the religious requirements of Soldiers Families and authorized civilians. Religious Support includes religious services; rites sacraments and ordinances; pastoral care/counseling; religious education; family life ministry and clinical pastoral education. The primary goal of the Chaplains Religious Support Program is to insure the free exercise of religious preference which is a statutory requirement under USC Title 10.
The purpose for contracting Musician is to support the Chaplaincys ministry by providing professional technical assistance to bring quality worship and ceremonial services to the Soldiers and their Families who are worshipping together. As a non-personal services worship musician the Musician is not a member of the Chapel Staff.
1.3 Scope: The Worship musician shall provide non-personal service(s). The Worship musician shall assume total responsibility for all requirements stated herein on the commencement date of the performance period. The Worship musician shall perform as specified in this Contract. See also Paragraph 1.1 Introduction.
1.4 Objectives: Services provided shall be conducted in accordance with AR 165-1. All services under this contract are to be performed by the qualified musician who can provide religious music during the regular and special Protestant Worship Services Special Religious Occasions such as retreats memorial service etc. and Praise Team or choir practice hours at JFC International Chapel.
1.6.6 Place of Performance: The work under this contract will be performed at JFC Brunssum International Chapel building H405 JFC Brunssum The Netherlands.
1.7 Special Qualifications: a. Demonstrated ability to proficiently play piano and keyboard and/or guitar. b. Demonstrated ability to proficiently play all selections in the Armed Forces Hymnal and other hymnals and/or songbooks designated by the Chaplain of the Congregation or the Choir/Praise Team Leader. c. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English for coordination with the Government Senior Chaplain or the Chaplain of the Congregation and the Choir/Praise Team Leader for satisfactory completion of the administrative tasks required of a worship musician or musician service during the worship service or praise team or choir rehearsal. d. Demonstrated understanding of the musical needs of the supported congregation. e. All the above qualifications will be evaluated by the Government Senior Chaplain.
2.1 Basic Services: The Worship musician shall provide Protestant musician services for the Protestant community at JFC International Chapel H405 Joint Force Command Brunssum The Netherlands.
2.2 Tasks
Tasks consist of the following:
2.2.1 Recurring Services: The Worship musician shall play piano keyboard or guitar proficiently during the musical portion of the Worship Service on Sunday or during other special occasions as required. The worship musician may coordinate songs hymns and music for JFC Chapel Protestant Worship Services with the Chaplain of the Congregation. The Worship musician is required to have the ability play both the piano or keyboard proficiently. The Worship musician shall accompany the singing of hymns choruses and spiritual songs; perform preludes; postlude; offertory; and background for meditation and prayers; that enhances the atmosphere of worship for the particular congregation.
The Worship musician may provide songs hymns and music in coordination of the Chaplain of the Congregation and play piano keyboard or guitar as accompaniment for Choir or Praise Team rehearsals.
a) The Worship musician shall play piano keyboard or guitar during the Sunday Worship Service as scheduled by the Government POC.
b) The Worship musician shall provide accompaniment for the Choir or Praise Team rehearsals.
2.2.2 On-Demand Services: The Worship musician shall play piano keyboard or guitar during the musical portion of holiday special or related ad hoc worship services for special religious occasions and purposes. The worship musician shall accompany the singing of hymns choruses and spiritual songs; perform preludes; postlude; offertory; and background for meditation and prayers; that enhances the atmosphere of worship or ceremonies. The worship musician shall play piano keyboard or guitar for the Choir or Praise Team rehearsals. The worship musician may provide selection of worship songs hymns or music for on-Demand Services and the Choir or Praise Team practices in coordination with the Chaplain of the Congregation or the Choir/Praise Team Leader.
a) The Worship musician shall play piano keyboard or guitar during on-demand special services.
b) The Worship musician shall provide accompaniment for the Choir or Praise Team rehearsals for on-demand special services.
