Role Responsibilities
- Prepare dining areas before and after meals to ensure cleanliness and readiness.
- Set tables with the appropriate utensils and glassware to prepare for service.
- Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently from customers.
- Deliver food and beverages to guests in a timely manner.
- Assist in the preparation of special events and banquets by collaborating with the kitchen staff.
- Monitor guest satisfaction and address any issues or concerns proactively.
- Maintain knowledge of menu items and be able to make recommendations.
- Assist with the training of junior staff as needed.
- Keep track of inventory and assist in ordering supplies when necessary.
- Conduct regular checks of dining and service areas to ensure adherence to health and safety standards.
- Participate in shift briefings and team meetings to discuss daily operations.
- Provide excellent customer service to enhance guest experiences and foster repeat business.
- Handle cash and process payments efficiently while maintaining accuracy.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to communicate order changes or special requests.
- Respond promptly to guest inquiries and special requests to ensure satisfaction.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a steward or similar role in hospitality.
- Strong customer service skills and a friendly demeanor.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work well within a team.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy items.
- Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in English; additional languages are a plus.
- Customer-focused mindset with problem-solving skills.
- Prior experience in fine dining is an advantage.
- Knowledge of wine spirits and beverage service is preferred.
