Programmer/Analyst VFACT
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a skilled Programmer/Analyst to support continuous development and enhancement of the Virginia Field Audit Compliance Tool (VFACT). This custom-built system is used by Tax Field Auditors to manage caseloads and track audit activities. The ideal candidate will play a key role in expanding tax types supported by the platform and integrating VFACT with the new tax administration system replacing IRMS.
You will work under the direction of the VFACT Application Manager contributing to backend data processing API integrations and system enhancements that align with Virginia Tax s modernization efforts.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and implement new features and enhancements within VFACT
Support integration of VFACT with new IRMS tax systems
Assist in onboarding additional tax types (e.g. Corporate Income Tax miscellaneous taxes)
Collaborate with tax administration staff to understand audit workflows and data needs
Maintain optimize and troubleshoot SQL/Oracle database functionality
Develop and consume REST APIs for system integration and data exchange
Requirements
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
3 years of hands-on experience with SQL and Oracle Database
2 years of experience working with REST APIs
Familiarity with audit workflows and tax audit processes (Highly desired)
Knowledge of Virginia Tax systems and processes (Highly desired)

Required Skills & Experience 5+ years of experience in test data preparation and execution Strong expertise in Teradata and SQL queries Test result validation and data quality assurance experience Defect tracking and resolution across multi-vendor environments Experience with test metrics reporting and stakeholder communication High-level communication and collaboration skills Preferred Skills Experience with claims processing systems Testing experience on Mainframe Systems Familiarity with DB2 and legacy mainframe platforms
