Job Description
Brightshores Health System ( Health System operates six hospitals in the Grey Bruce region serving a population of over 170000. The Owen Sound hospital is a Level 2 regional referral centre with a Level 3 ICU offering a full range of specialty services through the Departments of Anaesthesia Diagnostic Imaging Obstetrics/Gynecology Oncology Hospitalist Medicine Internal Medicine Pathology Paediatrics Psychiatry and Surgery (ENT General Surgery Ophthalmology Orthopaedics Urology).
ED Team
Our strong collegial ED team is currently comprised of sixteen (16) full- and part-time permanent Emergency Medicine physicians.
Service Delivery
With annual volumes of over 36000 visits double-coverage shifts 24-hour labs excellent specialty back-up and comprehensive diagnostic imaging (including 2 MRIs and 24-hour CT availability) our modern facilities are exceptionally well equipped.
Schedule
We schedule five 8-hour shifts per day including 16 hours of double physician coverage daily.
Opportunity
3 full-time (10 shifts/month) positions or equivalent in part-time positions are available immediately in Owen Sound.
Corporate Rural Emergency Medicine positions also available wherein physicians may work at more than 1 ED within the region (example: distance from Owen Sound to most rural sites is approx. 30 min).Thriving rural hospitals are also located in Lion s Head Markdale Meaford Southampton and Wiarton servicing a range of ambulatory in-patient and emergency needs.
Requirements
Qualifications
Interested candidates should hold FRCPC or CCFP EM (or goal to obtain) designations or CCFP with ED experience.
Independent license to practice in Ontario.
