Job Description
Job Purpose:
The Repair specialist is responsible for diagnosing repairing and testing defective service parts for X-ray and trace detection equipment. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong technical skills and a commitment to quality. Work is performed in a repair depot environment with exposure to electronic equipment and tools.
Based in Dublin please be aware that there will be required to attend a 2 week training course in the United States.
Duties:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot defective service parts for X-ray and trace detection equipment down to the component level
- Perform repairs and maintenance on equipment components to ensure optimal functionality.
- Test repaired parts to verify proper operation and compliance with specifications.
- Document repair processes and maintain accurate records of work performed.
- Collaborate with other technicians and engineers to resolve complex technical issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Provide feedback on recurring issues and suggest improvements to repair processes.
Qualifications :
About You:
- Proven experience in electronics repair and maintenance - perhaps youre working as a Field Service Engineer now and dont want to travel to different sites.
- Technical certification or relevant experience (IPC J-STD-001 soldering certification is a plus)
- Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical manuals
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Physically able to lift/move equipment as needed
Bonus Skills
- Experience with X-ray or detection equipment
- Familiarity with continuous improvement and process optimisation
- Knowledge of depot service environments or similar repair settings
