Job Description

SUMMARY

The Project Manager (PM) serves in the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Occupational Health Branch (OHB) as the responsible party for the administrative services related to contract staff in OHB as well as additional budgetary duties as described below.

The PM will serve as the chief provider of administrative services required by these staff including program planning and analysis cost projections budgeting tracking of personnel and program expenditures navigating reimbursements and project purchases. This may include writing and tracking purchase agreements contracts and grants.

Additionally the PM will contribute to tasks related the broader OHB budget including state expenses and contracts. These tasks include tracking branch monthly expenditures across multiple program funds including personnel travel legal IT special projects and indirect costs.

This is a term-limited position through June 30 2026 but may be extended if funding is available.

Salary range: $84768.00 to $106104.00 annually depending on experience/qualifications.

This is a mostly remote position but does require physical presence at the Richmond CA campus at least once per week. Interested candidates should provide a CV and cover letter with application.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assist in cost projections budgeting planning and creating purchase agreements to complete ongoing work related to the programs ongoing aims.
  • Serve as a liaison between OHB and Heluna Health on issues related to staff and programmatic budget purchases and reimbursements.
  • Participate in programmatic planning activities including seeking pricing for potential contracts and work orders coordinating with vendors and collaborating with other CDPH and external partners as needed to support ongoing staff work. Provide recommendations based on findings.
  • Reconcile cross-reference and combine data across various sources to respond to new and ongoing requests and produce related reports.
  • Other related administrative tasks as assigned by the OHB Assistant Branch Chief and OHB Branch Chief.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to combine and interpret complex data from numerous sources.
  • Ability to prioritize work requests and complete new and longitudinal assignments in an organized and timely manner.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite - Microsoft Excel Pivot Tables Access and Teams experience is a plus.
  • Ability to conduct in-office duties including review of physical mail and faxes managing periodic mailing of OHB publications and other responsibilities as instructed preferred.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelors degree required
  • 3-5 years of experience in program analytical and administrative duties preferred

The remainder of work can be done remotely. Must have functional internet access at remote location.
