Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for providing safe and efficient transportation for Guests while adhering to all driving laws and regulations for the safety of human lives using shuttle buses and passenger vans.

The following statements are intended as general illustrations of the work in this job class and are not all-inclusive for specific positions.

  • Drive all fleet vehicles transporting guests to various locations obeying all traffic laws/signs to ensure the safest operation of STRC vehicles and the safety of our guests.
  • Conduct routine inspections of vehicles before and after assigned shifts reporting any damage defects or operational concerns to the supervisor. If any concern may impact the operational safety of the vehicle report it immediately to the department manager.
  • Report vehicle issues requiring attention or mechanical maintenance.
  • Keep the interior of vehicles tidy and clean.
  • Fuel vehicles appropriately following established purchasing and vehicle manual procedures.
  • Promote safety above all other tasks including maintaining vehicles so they are clean and free of slip and fall hazards and ensuring that guests entering and exiting the vehicle can do so safely.
  • Complete daily driver logs and associated paperwork.
  • Report vehicle problems accidents and/or citations to the supervisor.
  • Maintain professional communication with supervisor and co-workers including radio contact with supervisors other shuttle drivers etc.
  • Demonstrate and provide outstanding guest service at all times. Assist guests with luggage and ensure all luggage and hand carries are secured.
  • Participate in training and other learning opportunities to expand knowledge of company and position. Comply with all policies and procedures set forth by STRC and hotel management.
  • Understand and adhere to all regulatory Tribal Casino and Hotel department rules regulations policies and procedures.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

GENERAL CONDITIONS

  • Excellent Driving Record. Must meet STRC drivers insurance requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Strong understanding of proper etiquette and interactions.
  • Demonstrate excellent listening skills to ensure meeting guests needs. Interact appropriately and effectively with guests management other team members and outside contacts.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be at least twenty-five (25) years of age.
  • Possess and maintain a valid vehicle operators license; Must provide a recent copy of driving abstract from DMV at the time of hire and anytime afterward at management discretion. (DOT requirements may apply)
  • Two (2) years hotel or casino transportation driver experience preferred.
  • Proven ability to safely operate commercial and passenger vehicles with manual and automatic transmissions.
  • Physically fit; have good visual and auditory acuity and be able to drive in adverse weather.
  • Ability to clearly understand and provide verbal and written instructions and prepare reports.
  • Excellent communication skills. Read write and speak English fluently.
  • Strong interpersonal and guest service skills
  • Schedule flexibility must be willing and able to work all shifts nights overnights weekends and holidays.

REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

In addition to the other duties described herein each team member has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations:

  • Employment is contingent on receiving and maintaining adequate licensing including any required gaming license.
  • Attend required training sessions offered by the Spokane Tribe Casino.
  • Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the ordinances regulations laws policies and procedures relating to the Casino.
  • Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not encouraged or permitted to gamble or loiter in gambling areas drink alcoholic beverages or purchase tobacco products.
  • Refer to the Internal Control System and Policy Manuals for guidance.
  • Take the appropriate steps to report exceptions fraud acts of wrongdoing and potential violations of regulations or internal controls to the appropriate levels of management.
  • Uphold high standards of ethical behavior and uphold a high level of confidentiality.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the impacts of problem gambling and have knowledge of the Casinos programs to address problem gambling.

WORK ENVIRONMENT and PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a team member encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

Must be able to:

  • Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external guests and contacts.
  • Frequently sit and drive for long periods of time; use hands to finger; handle; feel; reach grasp stand and walk while cleaning the exterior and interior of the vehicles; grip objects stretch and/or reach with hands and arms; stoop; crouch or work in cramped or awkward positions; repetitive motions. Lift move push or pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision distance vision depth perception and the ability to adjust to focus.
  • Work in a fast-paced time-demanding and busy environment.
  • Primarily indoors and may be exposed to heavy smoke and fluctuations in temperature while in and around the Casino and/or Hotel. May also from time to time be exposed to noise from slot machines guests music and public announcement systems as is common in a Casino and/or Hotel environment.
